Jacobean Oak windows and doors with leaded glass
This is a project we completed in the Autumn, the property is a beautiful old cottage with Oak casement windows and doors. We finished them in a dark Jacobean stain on the outside and a natural Osmo oil finish on the inside, this kept the room light inside while maintaining the dark oak look to the outside which matched the original windows.
While the original windows were single glazed with each pane made up of individual lead squares the owner was keen to improve the thermal quality in the extension where the new windows were fitted so we installed double glazed units with antique lead tape, to match as close as possible the original windows.
The two sets of French doors were fitted with multi-point locking for added security but with a traditional black antique handle. We can offer a large range of handles from a number of specialist suppliers and we work closely with Coastal Ironmongery who hold a wide range of both traditional and contemporary ironmongery along with the multi-point locking systems we install in all our doors and windows.
If you are planning a new build or extension and require some advice and guidance of the options for your external windows and doors, please don’t hesitate to contact us. You are welcome to come and have a look at the workshop and we can give you lots of information regarding timber types, frame and casement styles, locking and ironmongery along with all the various doors you can consider from bi-folds, French, front and back doors, even stable if that’s what you want.
